Now I just need someone to decorate my locker...

I've probably run into ten people over Spring Break here in the library that wanted to shake my hand and tell me they watched me speak in the Closing Arguments thing, including a professor. In the kingdom of the blind, a one-eyed man is King--so maybe these moot court/mock trial things are the equivalent of sports teams in law school?

Is this what is was like being on the football team in high school? If so, I'm waiting for my brownies...

I got out of the locker decorating business 16 years ago. However, I can probably still get you a great deal on crepe paper and stickers.

Out of respect to the time honored rites of passage that is known as attending law school, I am going to have to protest this entire analogy. Last time I checked, getting your locker decorated in Big V didn't have the same long term personal or social perks of being an attorney. Nevertheless, apparently some of us, let me clear my throat, are still a little upset about the lack of crepe paper and little debbies that accompanied our lives more than 15 years ago.

You, sir, have obviously been out of Big V too long!! If Coach Belew or (hand over heart) Britton ever heard you say that, you'd have some laps to run, boy! How many times did we hear that there was no more hallowed ground than the gridiron out behind the all-purpose building? I further cite to Cross Canadian Ragweed--You're Always 17 in Your Hometown...

Crepe paper, check. Little Debbies, check. Glitter pens, whoops! Forgot the glitter pens!!

Can I have the honor of decorating your car with a shoe-polish heart?

As for rkellus, it sounds like he missed the fanfare in both high school and law school. Sour grapes. Maybe he should go to grad school; do they have homecoming? I bet he'd rule the grad school...

Shoe polish on the car windows!! How could I forget?!? Do high school kids even still do that? I guess we had to do something--we didn't have the internet or TIVO back in the day...

Breaking News: During lunch, I went to Bookpeople and learned that Mark Finn and Cathy Day, along with longtime V town pop culture aficionado, Steve Ray have purchased the Plaza Theatre. Culture is heading north, folks! The trio will be abandoning the Promiseland in an effort to bring something missing to the land of glitter pens and shoe polish.

In all seriousness, this is the best thing to ever happen to the Ds and Rs of contemporary Vernon Texas. They are in for some fun. My prayers and best wishes for Finn Day Ray (sounds like some kind of Irish Attack Force)

Does this presage the long-awaited return of buck night (or it's horrid cousin, buck fifty nite)?

Cost of inflation try 5 dollar night. They do plan on offering John Wayne wednesdays and the like.
